The first period was the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. For example, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Textile Museum in Washington, DC, the Royal Onterio Museum in Canada, and the Victoria Museum in London all have Chinese carpets.
The second period was the period of the Republic of China. Because the output of several countries that mainly produced handmade carpets was reduced due to the impact of the First World War, handmade carpets produced in Beijing successfully surpassed Persia and Turkey and became the new darling of the international handmade carpet market.
The third period was the 1950s after the founding of the People's Republic of modern China. During this period, many things were waiting to be rebuilt, and carpet weaving skills were gradually revived in the inland. After the 1980s, handmade silk carpets produced in China enjoyed a golden age, gradually replacing Iran as the world's largest producer of handmade silk carpets.
